FG Jockey Jacinto Transported to Hospital

Jockey John Jacinto has been transported to Tulane Medical Center in Louisiana complaining of arm and hand pain after his mount broke down in the sixth race at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots March 28.

He was moving and alert, according to track officials, and his injuries do not appear serious.

Jacinto's mount, Whodatrunner, broke through the gate prior to the start of the 1 mile and 70-yard claiming contest but stayed in the stall and was off two lengths slow. He broke down early on the first turn and unseated Jacinto.

No information was immediately available on the condition of Whodatrunner, a 3-year-old winning son of Lion Tamer  .

Jacinto currently ranks fifth among Fair Grounds jockeys. At the current meet, he has won 68 of 465 races, for earnings of $1,578,165. During his career, Jacinto has been in the winner's circle 1,758 times and his mounts have earned a total of $33,111,334.
