The Washington Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association will hold its 2013 summer sale on Tuesday, Aug. 20, two weeks earlier than its past traditional Labor Day date. The sale will be held two days following the $200,000 Longacres Mile (gr. III). The sale will be held at the Morris J. Alhadeff Sales Pavilion located at Emerald Downs in Auburn.
Among the reasons for the date change were hopes to continue the upbeat atmosphere Mile weekend brings to the Pacific Northwest racing scene and to give out-of-town horsemen the opportunity to extend their stay.
