Gary and Mary West's Robert B. Lewis Stakes (gr. II) winner Flashback, who had his two-race unbeaten string ended in the San Felipe Stakes (gr. II), turned in a bullet six-furlong drill in 1:11 4/5 at Santa Anita March 25 in preparation for the April 6 Santa Anita Derby (gr. I). The work was the fastest of 15 at the distance.

The son of Tapit lost his unbeaten record when he engaged Goldencents early in the San Felipe, and although he put that rival away, he was caught late by the fast-closing Hear the Ghost.

Also working for the Santa Anita Derby from the Bob Baffert stable was the Wests' Power Broker  , who will be making his 3-year-old debut. The son of Pulpit, winner of last year's FrontRunner Stakes (gr. I), covered six furlongs in 1:12.

At Payson Park training center, Orb  , winner of the Besilu Stables Fountain of Youth Stakes (gr. II), drilled a half-mile in :48 3/5 for his March 30 engagement in the Florida Derby (gr. I). Shug McGaughey trains the son of Malibu Moon for Stuart Janney III and the Phipps Stable.

Orb will face off against Itsmyluckyday   and Shanghai Bobby  , the one-two finishers, respectively, of the Holy Bull Stakes (gr. III) on Jan. 26.
