Pin Oak Stable's homebred Changeintheweather worked five furlongs at Gulfstream Park Thursday in preparation for his American racing debut in the Feb. 16 Fountain of Youth Stakes (gr. I). The David Bell-trained son of Gone West completed the breeze in 1:02 2/5 on a fast track.
Changeintheweather has won two of three career starts, all at Woodbine in Canada. In his most recent start, he won the 1 1/16-mile Grey Breeders' Cup Stakes (Can-I) by four lengths after romping home clear by 10 lengths while earning his maiden win in September.
The Kentucky-bred is currently sixth on Steve Haskin's "Derby Watch" and is listed at odds of 75-1 in early Kentucky Derby betting at Bally's.
