The stakes winning mare Another injured herself while preparing for the recent The First Lady Handicap (gr. III) at Gulfstream and will likely be retired, said trainer T.V. Smith.
"She suffered a fracture in a knee when I was getting ready to run her in The First Lady Handicap," Smith said. "I sent her to a clinic in Kentucky where they confirmed the injury. I believe the owner (Robert Masterson) is going to breed her. She's a graded stakes winner and has great value as a broodmare."
Another won the 2001 running of The First Lady Handicap and finished second in three stakes -- the Shirley Jones Handicap (gr. III) at Gulfstream, the Safely Kept Stakes (gr. III) at Laurel and the Storm Cat Stakes at Keeneland.
