Randall Zeller, a partner in Kentucky-based Dapple Bloodstock and Dapple Stud, died unexpectedly Feb. 27 in New York City. He was 58.
Zeller, who focused on the business end of the two companies, served as Dapple Bloodstock president and CEO.
"He wasn't much for a lot of fanfare and was very much an intellect and behind the scenes guy," said Dapple founder Mike Akers. "He lived in New York and came to Lexington a couple of weekends a month."
A member of Thoroughbred Club of America, Zeller is survived by his wife, Lisa, and a son.
