Coolmore Buys Dunkirk Colt for $575,000

Hip 67 sold for $575,000.

A strapping gray colt by freshman sire Dunkirk  , out of Missy Turtle, sold for $575,000 at the Barretts select 2-year-old in training sale March 4 to Demi O'Byrne, international bloodstock agent for Coolmore.

The colt, which worked the co-fastest time of :9 3/5 for an eighth of a mile, was sold by Bruno DeBerdt's Excel Bloodstock as agent. DeBerdt bought the colt out of the Fasig-Tipton October yearling sale for $50,000 from the Oakleigh Farm consignment.

Harvey Clarke, the breeder of two-time classic winner I'll Have Another  , bred the colt.

Dunkirk, a son of Unbridled's Song  , stands at Ashford Stud near Versailles, Ky., for $10,000.
