Flashy Gray Surprise Favorite in Oaks Future

The only Kentucky Oaks Future Wager of 2013 closed the evening of March 3 with Flashy Gray the 6-1 betting choice.
West Point Thoroughbreds and Tom Keithley’s daughter of Flashy Bull , a winner of two of three career starts for Churchill Downs' all-time leading trainer Bill Mott, was the surprising choice among 24 wagering interests. The Mutuel Field, or "All Others" closed as the second choice at 7-1.
Reigning 2-year-old filly champion Beholder, a romping 3 3/4-length winner of the March 2 Las Virgenes (gr. I) at Santa Anita, and Unlimited Budget, the Todd Pletcher-trained winner of the Rachel Alexandra (gr. III) at Fair Grounds Feb. 23, were next at odds of 8-1 and 9-1, respectively.
The $1 million Kentucky Oaks saw a total of $126,039 wagered during the three days of the pool, comprised of $87,633 in win wagers and $38,405 in exacta betting.
