The Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association has named its champions and leaders for 2012, based upon the recommendations of its awards' committee of Jane White (chair), James Lawrence, Connie Nesteruk, and John Benson.
Following are the champions:
2yo filly and champion sprinter: So Many Ways (Sightseeing —Happy Scene, by Dehere, bred by John R. Penn and John C. Penn)
2yo male: Uptown Boy (Johannesburg—Two Klassy, by Two Punch, bred by Thomas G. McClay)
3yo filly: Angel Terrace (Ghostzapper —Another Storm, by Gone West, bred by George Strawbridge Jr.)
3yo male and turf horse: Thought Worthy (Dynaformer—Vignette, by Diesis, bred by George Strawbridge Jr.)
Older female: Plum Pretty (Medaglia d'Oro —Liszy, by A.P. Indy, bred by Silent Indy Stables and DDS Stables)
Older male: Philly Ace(Smart Strike —Bloomy, by Polish Numbers, bred by Brushwood Stable)
Steeplechaser: Divine Fortune (Royal Anthem—My Tombola, by Northern Fling, bred by William L. Pape and Jonathan E. Sheppard)
Broodmare: Bloomy (Polish Numbers—Late Bloomer, by Stage Door Johnny, owned and bred by Brushwood Stable)
Stallion: Real Quiet (Quiet American —Really Blue, by Believe It)
