Falling Sky, Sky Captain Scratch from FOY

Falling Sky, winner of the Sam F. Davis Stakes (gr. III) earlier this month, was scratched from the Besilu Stables Fountain of Youth (gr. II) at Gulfstream Park the morning of the Feb. 23 race, as was maiden winner Sky Captain.

Equibase reported that trainer Mark Casse scratched Sky Captain around 10:45 a.m. EST. A son of Sky Mesa  , Sky Captain recently finished second to fellow Fountain of Youth entrant Cerro for owner John Oxley in a Jan. 26 allowance race at Gulfstream.

Trainer John Terranova's scratch of Falling Sky was reported by Equibase at 12:25 p.m. EST. The son of Lion Heart was purchased by Newtown Anner Stud, James Covello, and Joseph Bulger prior to his neck victory over Pasco Stakes winner Dynamic Sky in the Feb. 2 Sam F. Davis at Tampa Bay Downs.
