Rain couldn't extinguish Pants On Fire as the multiple graded stakes winner easily drew off to win by 5 1/4 lengths over six other allowance contenders going a mile on a sloppy sealed track at Gulfstream Park Feb. 15 (VIDEO).

The 5-year-old son of Jump Start   who won the Louisiana Derby (gr. II) in 2011 came off a third-place effort in the Jan. 13 Hal's Hope Stakes (gr. III) behind Csaba and Pool Play to get the win. It was his first for George and Lori Hall since taking the May 26 Skip Away Stakes at Monmouth Park.

Pants On Fire sat easily in fifth behind a pace set by Two Is to Many, who went the quarter in :23.15 and a half in :46.32. Jockey Paco Lopez sent the dark bay Kelly Breen trainee on a strong early inside move and he assumed command on the turn for three-quarters in 1:11.50 and seven eighths in 1:24.40, shaking clear to win with something left. Final time for the one-mile race was 1:37.91.

The 4-5 choice returned $3.80, $2.60, and $2.20, Megamove brought $4.60 and $3.40, and Eldaafer paid $4. Alma d'Oro, Two Is to Many, Hello Prince, and Duke of Mischief completed the order of finish. Ravelo's Boy and Winslow Homer scratched.

Bred in Kentucky by K & G Stables out of the Cape Town mare Cabo de Noche, Pants On Fire improved his career record to 6-3-2 from 18 starts with earnings of $975,760.
