Acclamation was named 2012 Horse of the Year by the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association, becoming the eighth multiple winner of the honor. The announcement was made at the CTBA's annual meeting and awards dinner held Monday, Feb. 11, at the Westin Pasadena.

Acclamation, who was the 2011 Cal-bred Horse of the Year, earlier had been named champion Cal-bred older male and turf male for the second consecutive year. He is the first Cal-bred in history to pull off that "triple-double."

Acclamation also earned a 2011 Eclipse Award as leading older male.

Acclamation (Unusual HeatWinning in Style, by Silveyville) was bred by E B. and Judy Johnston's Old English Rancho, and was raced in 2012 by the couple with Peter and Mary Hilvers. He was trained by Donald Warren.

Acclamation is standing at stud at Old English Rancho near Sanger, Calif.
