Two paid entries to November's $500,000 Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge at Santa Anita Park—each worth $10,000—will be the top prizes when Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots hosts its first-ever Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge Qualifier on Louisiana Derby Day, March 30.
The winner and runner-up of the Louisiana Derby Day Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge Qualifier will have both their $2,500 entry fee and $7,500 live bankroll covered for the 2013 Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge, held annually during the Breeders' Cup World Championships. Third- through fifth-place finishers in the Qualifier will have their $2,500 BCBC entry fee paid.
The top five finishers in the Louisiana Derby Day contest also will take home shares of a cash prize pool worth $12,000 (if the contest has the maximum 60 entrants), with first place worth $5,000 cash.
The Louisiana Derby Day Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge Qualifier requires a $1,500 investment—a $500 entry fee plus a $1,000 live bankroll (players keep their winnings).
The Louisiana Derby Day Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge Qualifier will be comprised of 10 live races of the player's choosing at Fair Grounds on March 30. Participants must bet $100 per race in Win, Place, Show, Exacta, or Trifecta wagers.
The Qualifier will be headquartered in Fair Grounds' private Gold Room, with a catered lunch and complimentary beverages for registered players.
