Cindy's Hero, winning the 2000 Del Mar Debutante, has been retired.
Tom and Elizabeth Baxter's Cindy's Hero has been retired from racing and is booked to Deputy Minister. Cindy's Hero ran ninth in the Dec. 29 La Brea Stakes (gr. I) at Santa Anita in what was her final start.

"We had planned to run her again in January, then retire her," Tom Baxter said. "She didn't like the track and didn't run well last time, and we figured she was trying to tell us something. She's completely sound."

Bred by Baxter, the 4-year-old daughter of Sea Hero won two of dozen starts and earned $371,975. She took the Del Mar Debutante Stakes (gr. I) and Harold C. Ramser Sr. Handicap on grass. Her two stakes-placings included a third-place finish in the Oak Leaf Stakes (gr. I). Cindy's Hero's dam, Cindazanno (by Alleged), is booked to Storm Cat.
