The board of directors for the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association and Kentucky Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders announced Jan. 31 changes to its voting process for Kentucky-bred champions and KTOB Broodmare of the Year. The change opens voting to all dues-paying members of the organizations who now have the opportunity to cast their vote online.
"We believe opening our Kentucky-bred champion and Broodmare of the Year voting to our members reinforces our commitment to being an inclusive organization and allows our members to actively engage in the selection process for the winners of these significant awards," said KTA/KTOB president Clifford Barry in a release.
Winners of each championship division will be announced at the KTOB Awards Luncheon at Keeneland April 25.
