With the first major snowstorm of the year forecast for the Northeast, racing was cancelled Saturday at three tracks in the region. The tracks that cancelled live racing were Laurel Park in Maryland, Philadelphia Park in Pennsylvania, and West Virginia's Charles Town. According to the National Weather Service, the fast-moving low-pressure system was expected to drop several inches of snow in much of the Northeast.
In another weather-related cancellation, racing at Sam Houston Park was halted following Friday's seventh race due to fog.
