The first reported foal for 2009 Louisiana Derby (gr. II) winner Friesan Fire   is a filly born Jan. 22 at Maple Valley Farm in West Virginia for breeder Ken Lowe Jr.

The chestnut filly is out of the Louis Quatorze mare Helen Louise, a winner who earned more than $100,000 and a daughter of two-time grade III winner Silent Turn.

Friesan Fire covered 94 mares last year during his first season at stud. Owned in partnership by the Pons family's Country Life Farm, Rick Porter's Fox Hill Farm, and the Vinery Stud of Tom Simon, Friesan Fire stands at the Pons' Merryland Farm in Hydes, Md., for a 2013 fee of $4,000.
