Irish jockey Wayne Smith, who has14 wins to his credit during the current racing season in the United Arab Emirates, has been suspended for three race meetings as a result of his winning ride aboard Skoozi in Thursday's Maktoum Challenge (UAE-III) at Nad Al Sheba.

The action by the Emirates Racing Association stewards will preclude Smith from participation in the HH The President Cup meeting Jan. 27.

Riding the New Zealand-bred Skoozi for trainer Alan Smith, jockey Smith upset the three Godolphin Racing hopefuls in the race. Skoozi posted a nose victory over Godolphin's China Visit, winner of the 2000 UAE Derby.

In addition to also winning that night's featured Maktoum Challenge for Arabians, Smith also had two winning rides Friday night at Jebel Ali.
