Dublin's First Foal Arrives in New York

Dublin  , winner of the 2009 Three Chimneys Hopeful Stakes (gr. I) as a 2-year-old at Saratoga Race Course, sired his first reported foal, a filly born Jan. 18 at Newtown Anner Stud Farm in Millbrook, N.Y.

Bred by Jim Moloney, the chestnut filly is out of the Untuttable mare Heaven's Grace, a full sister to grade II winner This Ones for Phil.

"She's a strong early foal with great bone and great conformation," said Morris Reagan, owner of Newtown Anner Stud.

Dublin scored his biggest win in the Hopeful, following his sire, Afleet Alex  , who annexed the race five years earlier. At 3, Dublin placed in all three major Kentucky Derby preps at Oaklawn Park for trainer D. Wayne Lukas, including the Arkansas Derby (gr. I), and retired with earnings of $438,949.

Dublin, who bred 102 mares in his first book at stud in 2012, is out of the Storm Bird mare Classy Mirage, a grade I winner and five-time graded winner in New York. Dublin stands as a Spendthrift stallion at Keane Stud in Amenia, N.Y., for a fee of $7,500 stands and nurses. He is a participant in Spendthrift's "Share the Upside" and "Breed Secure" programs.
