Jockey Joe Rocco Jr. won his 1,000th race Jan. 24 when he took the ninth at Gulfstream Park for trainer Jane Cibelli aboard EBG Racing Stable's Rustler Hustler (VIDEO).

Rocco Jr., 30, reached the milestone victory by piloting two winners on the Gulfstream card. He won the first race with Randy Bradshaw's Go Go Lolo for trainer Allen Iwinski (VIDEO).

The son of jockey Joe Rocco Sr. notched his first career win at Tampa Bay Downs in 1999, and through Jan. 23 had ridden 7,999 mounts to earnings of $25,876,189. He was the leading jockey at Delaware Park in 2011, and that year won with six of his seven mounts July 27 to equal the record for most wins by a jockey on a single card at the eastern oval.
