Bevo displayed his readiness for the Aug. 26 $200,000 King’s Bishop Stakes (gr. I), and his fondness for the racing surface at Saratoga, going five furlongs in :59 4/5, handily, over a fast main track at Saratoga Friday. The drill earned Bevo a bullet as it was the co-fastest of 36 works at that distance on the day. Bevo raced at Saratoga once as a juvenile, winning the Saratoga Special (gr. II) by 2 1/2 lengths.

The other 3-year-olds probable for the seven-furlong race are More Than Ready, Left Bank, Personal First, Valiant Halory, Millencolin, and Wake at Noon. Listed as possible is Don’t Tell the Kids.
