The first reported foal by grade I winner Sidney's Candy   is a colt born Jan. 17 at Kenny Troutt's WinStar Farm near Versailles, Ky.

Bred by a partnership of WinStar and Winchell Thoroughbreds, the colt is out of the Storm Cat mare Ominous Cat, who is a full sister to the dam of 2012 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Sprint winner Hightail. Second dam is grade I winner Fleet Renee.

"He's a leggy, athletic foal and has all of Sidney's Candy's positive attributes," said Chris Baker, farm manager at WinStar. "My expectations for Sidney's offspring are high, and this colt has exceeded them."

Winner of the Santa Anita Derby (gr. I), Sidney's Candy (Candy Ride  --Fair Exchange, by Storm Cat) stands at WinStar. His 2013 fee is $15,000.
