After failing to find his best stride last year, two-time grade I winner Teaks North will look to turn things around when the Northern Afleet   gelding opens his 6-year-old season in the $150,000 Florida Sunshine Millions Turf Stakes Jan. 19 at Gulfstream Park.

Resolute Group Stables' Teaks North, who will be looking for his first win since taking the 2011 United Nations Stakes (gr. IT) at Monmouth Park, will try to end his five-race losing streak against an expected seven others in the 1 1/8-mile turf race for older Florida-breds.

In 2010 and 2011, Resolute Group Stables' Teaks North won five stakes races, including the 2011 Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap (gr. IT). But he struggled last season, finishing off the board in his only three starts.

The favorite could be another 6-year-old in WinStar Farm's Doubles Partner, with jockey Javier Castellano to ride for trainer Todd Pletcher. He makes his first start since a third-place finish in the Citation Handicap (gr. IIT) Nov. 23 at Betfair Hollywood Park.

A son of Rock Hard Ten, Doubles Partner won last year's Canadian Turf Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Gulfstream. In 2010 he won the American Turf Stakes (gr. IIT) at Churchill Downs.
