Jockey Debbie Hoonan racked up seven victories Portland Meadows Dec. 2, setting a new personal record for wins in a day and tying Joe Crispin and Felipe Valdez for most victories on a single card at the Oregon track.

Hoonan, 45, picked up her first win in the $28,400 Baxter Andruss Futurity when she guided Sneakin Bye ($19.20) to an upset win. She came right back and won races four and five, taking the fourth aboard Lean Gozzene ($3) and then the fifth with Wild WBT ($4.20).

She won the sixth race with Chicks Dig Him ($5.20), giving her four straight wins and giving Chicks Dig Him his fifth straight victory. Hoonan then took races 10 and 11 when she guided Tullamore Dew ($5.60) to an off-the-pace win and then won wire-to-wire aboard My Ginny N Tonic ($4) in the 11th.

The last win came aboard Freedomslastknight ($6.60) who Hoonan took to the lead and was never headed. The mild mannered Hoonan gave a big pump of her fist pump as she and Freedomslastknight hit the wire for record-tying win under the lights and in the rain at Portland Meadows.

"I want to thank Marbles (David Singer), my agent, for doing such a great job," Hoonan said after the races. "He got me on some great horses and they were all ready to go. All my horses that were sitting on a win got in on the same day."
