Yougottawanna Faces Five in Golden Gate Derby

Jerry Hollendorfer-trained Yougottawanna, who upset Officer in the restricted California Cup Juvenile Stakes, will attempt to rebound from a sixth-place finish in the Hollywood Futurity (gr. I) when he faces five rivals in Saturday's $125,000 Golden Gate Derby (gr. III) at Golden Gate Fields.

California-bred Yougottawanna (Candi's Gold--Chapel's Sister, by Midway Circle) has won three of seven starts and only finished off the board in the Hollywood Futurity, in which he finished 12 lengths behind Siphonic. The versatile chestnut colt has won at distances ranging from 5 1/2 furlongs to 1 1/16 miles and has won a stakes race on both dirt and turf. Russell Baze will guide Yougottawanna from post five.

The field for the 1 1/16-mile Golden Gate Derby, with jockeys, will consist of:

1 -- Danthebluegrassman, Joseph Steiner
2 -- U S S Tinosa, Roberto Gonzalez
3 -- Cruising Kat, David Wilson
4 -- Cappuchino, Frank Alvarado
5 -- Yougottawanna, Russell Baze
6 -- Cable Ready, Jose Arriaga
All entrants to carry 120 pounds.
