Solemia, winner of the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Fr-I) Oct. 7 has been retired from racing after finishing 13th in the Japan Cup (Jpn-I) Nov. 25.

The 4-year-old Irish-bred Poliglote filly is booked to Dubawi, who stands at Sheikh Mohammed's Dalham Hall Stud near Newmarket, England.

Bred and raced by Alain and Gerard Wertheimer's Wertheimer et Frere, Solemia was retired with a record of 5-3-2 from 14 starts and earnings of $3,317,678. Her three other stakes wins included this year's Prix Corrida (Fr-II).

Dubawi is represented as a stallion by a champion from Solemia's female family. Makfi, bred in Great Britain, is a European and French champion.

Solemia is one of six stakes winners out of French group winner Brooklyn's Dance (by Shirley Heights). Solemia is a half sister to French group winners Prospect Park and Prospect Wells.
