Repole Stable's Caixa Eletronica turned Thursday's Grade 3, $147,000 Fall Highweight Handicap into a mismatch, winning Aqueduct's traditional Thanksgiving Day feature by a widening four-length margin. The seven-year-old horse chased in second as pacesetter and 6-5 favorite This Ones for Phil established opening splits in :22 2/5 and :44 4/5 on a short lead, drew even after turning into the stretch and dominated the latter stages, finishing six furlongs in 1:08 3/5 on the fast track.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, Caixa Electronica recorded his fourth stakes victory in 2012, and fifth overall, and increased his sizable bankroll to $1,598,204 from a 60-19-8-11 scorecard. He's proven to be a very savvy claim for $62,500 by his connections in March 2011.

Toting 133 pounds, including jockey Javier Castellano, Caixa Eletronica's winning time was the fastest running of the Fall Highweight since 1991, and just one-fifth of a second off the stakes record of 1:08 2/5 held jointly by Hi Tex, who carried 130 pounds in 1952, and Ariel Lad, who toted 125 pounds in 1944.

"My horse was more in the bridle today, and he responded so well," Castellano said. "(Pletcher) put the horse in the right spot at the right time and he's put me on a lot of nice horses, especially this horse. We've had a lot of good success."

It was the fourth victory in 12 starts this year for Caixa Eletronica, a son of longtime Big A stalwart Arromanches who also boasts victories in the Grade 2, $1 million Charles Town Classic and the Grade 2 True North Handicap at Belmont Park this season.

"I told Javier, 'The horse is so versatile, he can do so much; keep him in the game. Do not let This Ones for Phil get away. If he walks the dog and goes 23 and 46 (seconds) and we come in second, I will be furious'," winning owner Mike Repole commented. "Javier said, 'I'll do what you want.' When he broke, he was right there; we went 22 and 44 (seconds) and at the top of the stretch, once he got close, it was just a matter of time."

Bred by Richard Rowan, Caixa Eletronica is the most successful foal produced by the Skip Away mare Edyta. His fourth dam is the stakes-scoring Poker mare My Charmer, who is best known for producing Horse of the Year, multiple champion and important sire Seattle Slew

Off as the 2-1 second choice among five rivals, Caixa Eletronica paid $6.40 and $3. Runner-up This Ones for Phil finished 4 1/4 lengths in front of Mine Over Matter, who was followed by Small Town Talk and Willy Beamin. Poseidon's Warrior was scratched.
