After rolling to a 14-length victory in the Tropical Park Derby on Oct. 13 at Calder Race Course, Csaba will try to keep the ball rolling when he faces an expected five rivals in the Fred W. Hooper Handicap (gr. III) Nov. 24 at the Miami area track.
The Tropical Park Derby had been scheduled for the turf but was moved to the main track. Bruce Hollander’s and Cary Shapoff’s Csaba, a 3-year-old Kitten's Joy colt out of High Chant, by War Chant , thrived in the 1 1/8-mile race on a track listed as good.
After putting away 3-year-olds in the Tropical Park Derby, Csaba will face older horses in the Fred W. Hooper, which will be contested at the same 1 1/8-mile distance. Csaba was bred in Kentucky by Ken and Sarah Ramsey.
