Spendthrift, Park Stud Fees Unchanged B. Wayne Hughes' Spendthrift Farms has announced its 2013 stud fees, of which none have changed from what they were for the 2012 breeding season. The farm stands 11 stallions at its Lexington-based operation and has four regional stallions—two at Park Stud in Ontario, one at Keane Stud in New York and one in Louisiana at Elite Thoroughbreds. Michael Byrne of Park Stud said positive news coming out of Ontario's provincial government has generated some optimism for the horse community there. "The report's suggestions paint a very positive future for racing in Ontario, principally their support for the Horse Improvement Program and the Ontario Sires Program," Byrne said, referring to communication from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture's Racing Transition Panel. "Melnyk Racing Stables, Spendthrift Farm, and Park Stud will be continuing to strongly support all three stallions, affirming our commitment to the Ontario program and Ontario breeders. With the recent loss or relocation of several stallions in the province, we feel our stallions offer tremendous value and upside for the future," Byrne said. The following are all Spendthrift stallions and locations for 2013, including stands and nurses fees. Kentucky Ontario New York Louisiana Park Stud also stands Eugene Melnyk's Marchfield , whose stud fee is unchanged at Can$4,000.
