Sadler happy for Switch, excited about upcoming prospects
Sadler trained Switch for each of her 24 starts after the bay was purchased at the 2008 Keeneland September Yearling Sale for $150,000 by Lee and Susan Searing's C R K Stables. She finished third in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint last Saturday in her final appearance after checking in second in that race the previous two years. Looking forward, Sadler expects a strong showing for the Hollywood Park meeting. "We're going to see Kettle Corn in the (Grade 3) Native Diver Stakes (on December 1)," he said, referring the race the bay five-year-old won last year by a half-length. Kettle Corn won his prep for the Native Diver, taking Thursday's 3RD race on turf as the even-money favorite. "We also have some new European two-year-olds," Sadler continued. "Rising Legend, who was on the also eligible list in the Breeders' Cup, will probably go in the (Grade 3) Generous Stakes (on November 24) and Pussycat Lips will probably start in the (Grade 3) Miesque Stakes (on November 24)." Sadler expressed interest in running Monument, last of nine in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, in the King Glorious Stakes going seven furlongs on December 16, closing day of the autumn meet. The conditioner is also excited about Lady of Shamrock's prospects next year. The Scat Daddy sophomore filly was a fast closing fifth in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf after a rough trip. "It was a good race for her," Sadler noted. "She had some trouble at the start and Mike Smith told me a horse came over on her in the stretch or she might have been second. We wish she would have won, but you know in turf racing that can happen." Bet Horseracing Free Online at TwinSpires.com
