Canadian champion filly Tu Endie Wei has been retired from racing to become a broodmare for Brereton C. Jones at his Airdrie Stud near Midway, Ky.

The 3-year-old Johar   filly was retired because of a troublesome sesamoid. Breeding plans are undecided.

Bred and raced by Jones, Tu Endie Wei was voted Canadian champion juvenile filly of 2011 after winning the Ontario Debutante Stakes, the My Dear Stakes, and the Glorious Song Stakes in three of her four starts that year.

This year, she won the Seaway Stakes (Can-III) and the Star Shoot Stakes and finished second in the Selene Stakes (Can-III) and third in the Victory Ride Stakes (gr. III). Trained by Reade Baker, Tu Endie Wei was retired with a record of 5-1-1 from 12 starts and earnings of $528,005.

Out of the Indian Charlie mare Ms. Cornstalk, Tu Endie Wei is a half sister to Canadian Horse of the Year Biofuel. A homebred for Jones, Biofuel is in foal to Tapit  .
