Mining My Own, dam of 2009 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner Mine That Bird and 2012 Kentucky Derby runner-up and three-time grade I winner Dullahan (who is slated to run in the Nov. 3 Breeders' Cup Turf, gr. IT), has a new home at Ben and Elaine Walden's Pauls Mill near Versailles, Ky. following a recent acquisition that saw Pauls Mill purchase half interest in the 11-year-old Smart Strike   mare. Phil and Judy Needham and Bena Halecky retained the other half.

"It's a privilege to be able to buy into a mare like Mining My Own, and partnering with such great people as Phil and Judy Needham and Bena Halecky," said Ben Walden in a release. "It is remarkable to think that two of her first three foals have either won or run second in the Kentucky Derby. She's a special mare."

Mining My Own was relocated to Pauls Mill Nov. 1 along with her 2012 Giant's Causeway   colt. She will be bred to incoming WinStar Farm stallion Bodemeister   in 2013.

"We feel it is a beautiful mating when you consider that both Mine That Bird and Dullahan hail from the Fappiano sireline, as well as Bodemeister who I feel has a real chance to be a breed-shaping sire," said Walden.

Out of the Vice Regent mare Aspenelle, Mining My Own was bred by Peter Lamanthia, James Blackburn, and Needham/Betz Thoroughbreds. She was unraced.

Mine That Bird is a son of Birdstone  , a grandson of Unbridled, and Dullhan is by Even the Score  , also a grandson of Unbridled.
