Potesta, the Hollywood Oaks (gr. II) winner who suffered a career-ending condylar fracture to her left foreleg during a workout Sept. 14, is recovering well and will be offered at the Keeneland January horses of all ages sale, her connections said Nov. 1.
The 3-year-old filly underwent emergency surgery at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center in California to stabilize the injury, which occurred high above the ankle in a six-furlong breeze under exercise rider Adalberto Lopez at Betfair Hollywood Park. Trained by Mike Mitchell, she was preparing for a start in the Sept. 29 Zenyatta Stakes (gr. I) at Santa Anita Park.
