Bourbon Bay Out of Breeders' Cup Turf

David Heerensperger's Bourbon Bay will not run in the $3 million Breeders' Cup Turf (gr. IT) at Santa Anita Park Nov. 3, Breeders' Cup oficials said Oct. 28.

The 6-year-old gelding was declared from competition on the advice of veterinarians Oct. 28. Details were still forthcoming.

Bourbon Bay, a son of Sligo Bay   trained by Neil Drysdale, has a 9-5-4 record from 27 starts with earnings of $968,536. This year, he won the April 22 San Juan Capistrano Handicap (gr. IIT) and the March 25 San Luis Rey Stakes (gr. IIT) at Santa Anita. He was bred in Kentucky by Adena Springs and is out of the Conquistador Cielo mare Coral Necklace.
