Okawango Dies in Paddock Accident

The Jockey Club of Turkey reports that stallion Okawango died at age 14 in a paddock accident at Karacabey Stud Farm.

By Kingmambo, Okawango is the sire of 124 winners and his runners have earned $7,168,149 as reported through Oct. 25. One of his top runners is Steele Tango, a group III winner in England.

At age 2 Okawango earned highweight honors in France when he won the Grand Criterium (Fr-I) and Prix la Rochette (Fr-III) in 2000.
