Equine Osteoarthritis Focus of Online Event

TheHorse.com will present "Equine Osteoarthritis," a free "Ask the Vet" live audio and Q&A event on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 8 p.m. EDT. The event is sponsored by Kinetic Technologies.

Experts will discuss prevention, treatment, and management of equine osteoarthritis, a degenerative and often career-compromising disease. Presenting this Ask The Vet Live event will be:

—Lisa A. Fortier, an associate professor of Large Animal Surgery at Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, N.Y., where her research interests include arthritis, stem cells, and tendonitis; and

-—Dr. Scott W. Pierce, who joined Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital, Lexington in 1985 and became a partner in 1989. He continues to practice in an ambulatory capacity with Rood & Riddle and is a founding owner of Kinetic Technologies.
