Street Sense Colt Fetches $210,000 at FT Sale

A Street Sense   colt brought $210,000 early in the afternoon during the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Eastern fall yearling sale Oct. 1. His price made him the second-most-expensive horse sold so far in Timonium, Md., trailing only a $300,000 Malibu Moon   filly out of Never Fail.

Fasig-Tipton reported that Jim Moloney/Irish Acres purchased the $210,000 yearling. Consigned by Paramount Sales, agent, the Kentucky-bred colt is out of two-time added-money winner Richbabe (by Richman) and is a half brother to 2006 Debutante Stakes (gr. III) winner Richwoman (by Successful Appeal). He is a full brother to the winner Street Thug. Other family members include grade I winner Videogenic and grade II winner Ziggy's Boy.

Vail Equine purchased the Street Sense yearling for $250,000 from Dapple Stud, agent, at the 2011 Keeneland November breeding stock sale. Earlier this year, the colt was a $345,000 buy-back when consigned by Dromoland Farm, agent, to the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga select yearling auction.
