Millionaire Jostle Back in Training

Multiple grade 1-winner and millionaire Jostle, who was purchased by Pete Whittman at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale for $1.7 million, has been placed back in training at Churchill Downs under Elliott Walden's care. On Dec. 20, the 4-year-old daughter of Brocco worked three furlongs at Churchill Wednesday in :37 3/5.

Then-owner Richard Porter announced Jostle's retirement last fall and the filly was then sent through the sales ring at Keeneland. With a record of eight wins and five seconds from 19 starts, Jostle has earned $1,381,682. Previously trained by John Servis, Jostle won back-to-back grade I races in 2000 when she took the Alabama and Coaching Club American Oaks. The daughter of Brocco was winless in five starts this year, but as beaten only a neck each in the Hempstead (gr. I) and Pimlico (gr. III) Handicaps. At the time or her retirement, Servis said Jostle had been plagued by ankle problems this year.

Bred by Prestonwood Farm, Jostle was purchased privately by Porter after she was bought back for $105,000 at the 1998 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga yearling sale.
