Multiple Grade 1 winner
The Factor has been retired from racing and will
enter stud at William S. Farish's Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Kentucky, for
the 2013 breeding season. Raced by George Bolton and David Shimmon's Fog City
Stable, The Factor won six races, five of them graded, including the Grade 1
Malibu and Grade 1 Pat O'Brien. A winner at ages two, three and four, the son of War Front out of the Miswaki mare Greyciousness, also won three Grade 2 events, including the San Vicente and Rebel last year and the San Carlos this year. In his maiden win, he set a new track record of 1:06 4/5 for six furlongs at Santa Anita. The Factor made his final start July 29 at Del Mar, finishing second in the Grade 1 Bing Crosby. The Bob Baffert trainee retires with a mark of 13-6-2-0, $922,180. "The Factor showed brilliant speed and exceptional scope and quality in his three seasons on the racetrack and Lane's End is very pleased to stand this stunning horse whose pedigree will be of great interest to breeders," Farish said. |
The Factor will stand as the property of a syndicate and his initial stud fee will be $15,000.
