The Breeders' Cup announced Monday that a limited quantity of reserved seats remain for the two-day international festival of racing, November 2-3, at Santa Anita Park, as advanced sales have outpaced 2008 and 2009, the last time the event was held in Southern California.

The 29th Breeders' Cup consists of 15 races with purses and awards totaling more than $25 million. First race post time on Championship Friday is 11:15 a.m. (PDT).

"We're very encouraged by fan response to date as we return to Southern California and Santa Anita Park," Breeders' Cup President and Chief Executive Officer  Craig Fravel said. "The Breeders' Cup has evolved into a multi-day celebration of the very best of Thoroughbred racing and we look forward to working with our host track and host cities of Los Angeles and Arcadia to provide a world class hospitality and entertainment experience for our guests.

"Coming off such successful race meetings at Del Mar and Saratoga this summer, we are excited to carry the strong momentum of fan support right through to the Championships."

Santa Anita President George Haines noted that the two-day Breeders' Cup is a highly anticipated component to Santa Anita's 24-day Autumn Meet, which begins on September 28.

"It's gratifying to see the response the Breeders' Cup is generating," Haines said. "We're thrilled to have the two-day event back here at 'The Great Race Place' and it's great to see that so many of our fans are making early plans to join us. We intend to put on a great show."
