Gulfstream Park opened its second floor casino early on the evening of Sept. 9. The casino had been closed since Sept. 2 when a breach in a 13,000 gallon aquarium caused extensive water damage.

The casino's poker room, located on the first floor, opened a day earlier after it was also forced to close due to water damage.

"Both our casino and poker room went through renovations over the past week, including new paint, carpet and furniture," said Mike Couch, Gulfstream's director of gaming. "With our poker room and second floor casino open, we will now focus on our grand reopening Friday morning."

A reopening ceremony will be held on the morning of Sept. 14. The celebration fesatures weeklong giveaways that include a $10,000 cash giveaway every day ($500 every 30 minutes from noon to 10 p.m.)

"Once again, we want to thank our guests for the patience and their good wishes,"Couch said. "Our management and staff are eager to welcome them back."
