Godolphin’s Best of The Bests topped a field of five in Tuesday’s Prix Guillaume d’Ornano (Fr-II) at Deauville. The 3-year-old son of Machiavellian had not won in three prior starts this year, but had placed in all three of his starts last year.
Bred in Ireland from the Darshaan mare Sueboog, Best of The Bests covered the 1 1/4-mile race in 2:06.07 over a course listed as good to firm. He came across the wire four lengths ahead of Sheikh Hamdan al Maktoum’s Kutub. Gary Tanaka’s Hesiode was third. Saeed bin Suroor conditions the winner.
