Stewards at Delaware Park have levied a lengthy suspension against apprentice Victor Rodriguez for two incidents on the Aug. 25 race card.
According to the ruling, Rodriguez was suspended beginning Aug. 29 through the end of the current Delaware Park meet Nov. 3. The ruling stated the 31-year-old rider, who has ridden 16 winners from 118 mounts through Aug. 29, engaged in extremely careless riding during the second race, causing his mount to clip heels and fall near the three-eighths pole.
Then, in the fourth race, Rodriguez pushed "another rider with his hand during the running of the race at the quarter pole," the ruling stated.
