Two canoes patrol the infield pond at Saratoga.

For the first time in history, two canoes will float on the infield pond at Saratoga Race Course in honor of Golden Ticket and Alpha, who hit the wire together in an electrifying finish resulting in the first dead heat in the $1 million Travers Stakes (gr. I) since 1874.

Officials from the New York Racing Association placed the canoes featuring the colors of Alpha and Golden Ticket into the pond as tradition dictates for the Travers winner.

Alpha (Bernardini  Munnaya, by Nijinsky II) is owned by Godolphin Racing, and Golden Ticket (Speightstown  Business Plan, by Deputy Minister) races for Magic City Thoroughbred Partners.
