Showing Up , a leading turf runner as a 3-year-old, was represented by his first winner when his 2-year-old daughter Number One Dancer won at Camarero Race Track in Puerto Rico Aug. 22 in her first start. Owned by Establo Galeno, Number One Dancer took the 6 1/2-furlong race in 1:20.03.
Bred in Kentucky by Frank Stronach’s Adena Springs, Number One Dancer is the second foal and first winner out of the winning El Prado mare Feisty Woman, who is a half sister to two stakes winners including grade II winner Mr. Commons.
Showing Up (Strategic Mission—Miss Alethia, by T. V. Commercial) won five stakes at 3 in 2006 including the Hollywood Derby (gr. IT) and the Secretariat Stakes (gr. IT). He stands at Adena Springs Canada near Aurora, Ontario. His 2012 fee was $5,000 (Canadian funds).
