Explosively Fast Brings $59,500 at NM Sale Explosively Fast, a son of Ghostly Moves, brought the top price for a Thoroughbred of $59,500 during the New Mexico-bred Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred yearling sale Aug. 18 at Ruidoso Downs. Joe Dee Brooks, Lee Lewis, Ted Rushing, and Dale Taylor purchased the gray or roan colt from A&A Ranch, agent. Fred Alexander, Todd Fincher, and Brad King bred Explosively Fast, who is out of the winning Explosive Red mare Explosive Peaches. The colt is full brother to the added-money winner Explosive Mine. The results for the Thoroughbred portion of the auction included a gross of $881,400 for the 100 horses that were sold. The average price was $8,814 and the median price was $5,000. The buy-back rate was 23.1%.
