Littleexpectations to Stand at Weston-Ward in Texas

With leading freshman sire Valid Expectations standing in Texas, now his full brother will join him in the Lone Star state.
Four-year-old Littleexpectations will enter stud in 2002 at Charles Weston and Dr. Jim Ward's Weston-Ward Thoroughbreds at Straus Medina near San Antonio. The syndicated stallion will stand for $2,500.

Littleexpectations raced for Texans Lee and Robert Ackerley, who also raced Valid Expectations. Both were bred by Harry Mangurian Jr.

When Mangurian arranged a deal to stand Valid Expectations at his Florida farm, the Ackerley's received his at the time weanling fully brother -- Littleexpectations. He raced for the brothers after being bought back at the 1999 Ocala Breeders' Sales Co.'s February sale for $275,000.

Littlexpectations, out of the Iron Constitution mare Mepache, won six of 17 starts and earned $205,480. At two in 1999, he won the Sugar Bowl and Old Hickory Stakes at Fair Grounds. He last started on Dec. 7, finishing sixth in an allowance race at Fair Grounds. He was trained throughout his careeer by Steve Asmussen.
