Delta Downs Schedules 32 Stakes in 2012-2013

Highlighted by the $1 million Delta Jackpot (gr. III), Delta Downs has announced a stakes schedule consisting of 32 stakes with purses totaling $4.64 million during the 2012-2013 meet.

The 88-day meet at the Vinton, La., track runs Oct. 19, 2012, through March 23, 2013. The 10th renewal of the Jackpot and seven other stakes worth $2.4 million are scheduled for Nov. 17, with a special post time on Jackpot Day of 1:15 p.m. (CST).

Also on the stakes schedule is Louisiana Premier Night, Feb. 2, with 10 stakes restricted to Louisiana-breds and purses of $1,000,050. The program will be highlighted by the $200,000 Louisiana Premier Night Championship for older horses competing at 1 1/16 miles.
