Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) winner Believe You Can had her first workout at Saratoga Race Course Aug. 6, breezing over the Oklahoma training track in preparation for the Alabama Stakes (gr. I) on Aug. 18.

With jockey Rosie Napravnik aboard, the Proud Citizen   filly went out shortly after the first renovation break and worked five furlongs in 1:02.10, the fifth-fastest of 13 at the distance.

“Everything was good; she’s done everything real good,” said trainer Larry Jones. “The Alabama has been our goal. Now we just have to get it all to come together.”

Bred and owned by Brereton C. Jones, Believe You Can has won six of her 10 starts and earned $1,089,484. In addition to the Kentucky Oaks, she won this year’s Fair Grounds Oaks (gr. II) and Silverbulletday Stakes and the Tempted Stakes (gr. III) last year. The 3-year-old filly is coming off a third-place finish behind Zo Impressive in the Mother Goose Stakes (gr. I).
