Nine-year-old shuttle stallion General Monash died over the weekend in a paddock accident at Lindsay Park Stud in Australia. A French group II winner, General Monash (Thorn Dance -- Zummerudd, by Habitat) stood at Ballyhane Stud in Ireland and first shuttled to Lindsay Park in 2000.

"We had very high hopes for General Monash," said Lindsay Park farm manager Arthur Dabernig. "Reports on his first season foals in Australia had been very encouraging."

Bred in Kentucky by John T.L. Jones Jr. and Roncon Ltd., General Monash won five of 15 starts and earned $121,794. His big win came as a 2-year-old in the Prix Robert Papin (Fr-II).
